Figurehead appear live on 89.7 FM Twin Cities' Western Oz show, ahead of their debut EP launch and have a chat with Sandy. The lads played acoustic versions of Blue Tongues and No Sleep.

"Figurehead were something of a revelation. With an average of just 14 years of age, they certainly had a way with catchy, quirky and cool tuneage. Strong melodies with inventive structures were often complemented by nice outros, all the while performed in a manner that lies somewhere between laconic and enthusiastic. Their last song, No Sleep, sounded like something dreamt up by REM and Joe Jackson. Enter that thing in the WAM Song Of The Year already! Watch this space, keep an eye out, etc, etc." Bob Gordon The Music

The Music Review of The Big Splash Semi-Final

Big thanks to Bob Gordon for this review.. We had better get in the studio to record No Sleep!

The Big Splash Wild Card See's Figurehead Through To The Semi-Final

Everything about Bri Clark comes out on the surface and comes so deep. Probably the best singer in terms of singer-singers of the night, Bri's music tastes aren't underground or dare we say challenging and in this way she produces music that may very well prove to be huge through commercial networks, big FM etc. We heard Dee - the owner of Atlas Clothing - express how much she enjoyed Bri Clark's set but that she would love the opportunity to, in her eyes… Read more

The Big Splash Band Comp Heat 4, @ The Bird- by Linda Dunjey The Music.com

Big thanks to Linda Dunjey and the The Music.com for this review.
"Next up, an indie rock/pop band with an average age of 15 years formed last year, impressively taking out the Rock Scholars Band of the Year for 2014 and earning themselves second place in this year’s Sound Overload Battle of the Bands. Sure, there’s the initial impact of their youth but it’s soon forgotten when they start playing. They were into their second song when bass and drums really hit their stride and from then on they were an… Read more

This was the closest heat yet of The Big Splash! Presented by 4 Pines Brewing Company The Big Splash Heat #4 was an incredible night and a tough one to call. Judges last night were Ben Young, Roy Martines, Brett Walsh, Chris Wright and Jamie Terry and to refresh everyone’s memories the bands were; Agamous Betty, Figurehead, Shit Narnia, and The Methamphetaqueens,.

Coming in fourth was Agamous Betty who had the crowd mesmerised with his poetic cabaret inspired experimental indie rock. There was a dark… Read more

Figurehead, who formed in 2014 and took out second place in the 2015 Sound Overload Battle of the Bands just a year later, were next to the stage, gracing us with their unique brand of alt-pop that had an unmistakable classic-rock feel to it. Having supported the likes of fellow Perth rockers The Love Junkies, these guys were no strangers to the stage, which came through in their cool, confident performance. In rushed a new influx of eager watchers, mostly younger people, which brought a youthful… Read more

Figurehead's Debut EP almost Complete

This weekend Figurehead recorded the final 2 songs for their forthcoming debut EP. FIGUREHEAD are Pick of the Week.

Big thanks to Teensoul for this awesome review!!!!!

"Cool kids on the block, Figurehead, have just released the first studio recording of their song ‘Blind’ and with an EP launch planned later in the year we can see big things in the stars for these guys. This talented bunch of teens have honed their passion for music and formed a rad ensemble creating cruisey indie rock tunes. ‘Blind’ with its mellow guitar riffs, consistent clicking drum beats and echoing vocals makes for a track worthy of a roadtrip… Read more
